


Our Counselors in Training (CIT) program provides our 14 and 15-year-old campers with the tools to become successful leaders, role models, and George School Day Camp staff members. As the older campers, they will be the natural leaders for the younger campers and model the Quaker values of respect for the individual and community and each person’s responsibility to the group. They will be able to further nurture their interests and skills in the variety of activities that are a part of our camp life. Upper Camp provides adolescents with opportunities for growth rooted in taking a step into nature. Upper Camp (ages 10–14) – The ratio of counselors to campers is 1:8 At the core of Middle Camp curriculum, activities focus on teamwork, building confidence, and making friendships. Campers are exposed to a variety of sports and other athletic endeavors and are encouraged to cultivate their artistic exploration through movement, drawing, and painting.

Middle Camp programming focuses on developing more advanced skills in artistic and physical activities. We are thrilled to be able to offer our youngest campers a space that is designed especially for them! The addition of the NFS campus and classrooms allows us to offer a robust program that will engage the campers socially, cognitively, mentally, and physically. New for Summer 2022, we are expanding our camp space to include the Newtown Friends School campus! NFS will serve as the home base for our Lower Camp Division this summer. Our program is structured to promote your camper’s growth socially, cognitively, and emotionally. Campers have the opportunity to try a variety of new activities and receive individualized attention in small groups from counselors and instructors. We emphasize cooperative play activities, and we introduce campers to the fundamentals of athletic games, artistic exploration, and an appreciation for the outdoors. Our youngest campers are encouraged to explore the world around them. Lower Camp (ages 4–6) – The ratio of counselors to campers is 1:5 This ensures that each child participates in age-appropriate activities with their peers. Daily activities vary, but every camper will participate in swimming, art, drama, dance, and a multitude of activities and games including Gaga, Scooter Soccer, Capture the Flag, Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Ping Pong, Air Hockey, Foosball, Chess and many more!Įach child who attends George School Day Camp is placed in a co-ed group based on school grade. Campers participate in a variety of traditional team sports with emphasis on mastery of skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun-not only competition. Though we are not a sports camp, we are a very active camp. Like George School, we emphasize the Quaker philosophies of respect for the individual and each person’s responsibility to the group. George School Day Camp (GSDC) provides a nurturing and safe environment for all campers.
